Dec 12, 2024

Enrolling | Clinical Trial | Single Site | UTHeath Houston McGovern Medical School

The TOPSS 2 study (Tolerability of transcranial direct current stimulation in Pediatric Stroke Survivors 2) is recruiting children and teens aged 5–19 years who have arm weakness following childhood hemorrhagic or ischemic stroke. This double-blind, sham-controlled trial aims to evaluate the tolerability of bihemispheric transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) paired with intensive occupational therapy. The study also explores improvements in arm function, changes in brain connectivity on MRI, and validates functional assessments for future research. Participation involves 10 therapy sessions over a 2-week period and a follow up evaluation 6 months afterwards.
