Plans for IPSO 2021 (updated May 2021)

Dear IPSO Attendee,

Although much needed vaccine programs are being rolled out across globe, the beginning of 2021 has brought with it a continuation of uncertainty with many international restrictions and public health measures still in place. IPSO has decided to host a virtual conference this year and postpone the Founding Members’ Congress to 2022.

IPSO’s first Virtual Conference will be July 19th-21st, 2021. Please check the registration and virtual conference program pages for more details.

In the meanwhile, wishing you and your communities well during these uncertain times.

Sincerely,

IPSO Central

Read 2020 Postponement Notice from the Board
Dear IPSO Attendee,

It is with much disappointment that we are announcing the postponement of the inaugural IPSO Founding Members’ Congress, in Vienna. With the increasing global spread of COVID-19 and subsequent increased number of travel restrictions and public health measures, we must cancel our May 2020 meeting. We will reschedule the Congress for summer 2022, at the same venue in Vienna and instead host a virtual conference July 19th-21st, 2021. Based on the high level of enthusiasm as we have been planning, we have decided to extend from a 2-day meeting to a 3-day meeting to allow for more oral abstract presentations and a wider range of symposiums.

We can provide reimbursement of registration fees to those who have registered for the congress. Alternatively, we are also offering delegates who have paid for their registration the option to put these funds towards attending the virtual conference in 2021. For any travel booked, many airlines are offering cancellation fee waivers or credits due to the travel concerns and quarantines in effect. If you have booked travel to attend IPSO, please check the terms and conditions with your travel provider directly.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the cancellation of the 2020 meeting, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused, and even sorrier for those of you with loved ones affected by this disease.

We look forward to seeing you all in Vienna in 2022 for an even more robust meeting.  We have been impressed by the high level of interest in IPSO.  We all seem to share the same sense of urgency to bring our various disciplines together to improve that care of children with cerebrovascular diseases.

More soon as we brainstorm about ways to continue to advance our mission through web-based conferences.  We plan to move forward with creating IPSO committees, working on educational materials and consensus-based guidelines, etc.

In the meanwhile, wishing you and your communities well during these uncertain times.

Sincerely,

IPSO Central
